Become a ChatGPT Expert: You Don't Have a Choice
The world will soon be divided into ChatGPT experts and the unemployed
AI is eating the world. If you are spending time every day trying hard to automate as much of your job/company as possible, you have a seat at the table. Everyone else is on the menu1.
If you’re not spending some time every day experimenting with ChatGPT and trying to automate at least 25% of your job, you are going to be in trouble.
A recent report by Goldman Sachs Economic Research predicts that on an average 25% of most jobs will be automated by AI soon2. The percentage is much higher in many professions, including all knowledge work.
If 10 hours per week of your job are going to be done by AI soon, how much time per week should you spend learning how to use AI to automate those parts and then use the freed up time to provide more value?
I read a variation of this somewhere recently, but I can't find the reference, so can’t give appropriate credit. If you know where this is from, please let me know.
Don’t take these numbers too seriously. As Noah Smith points out, nobody really knows how many jobs will be automated.
